A wooden octagon backyard gazebo is a great way to bring lasting beauty to your living space. These natural wood octagon gazebos provide long-lasting solace to a human soul needing refreshment and rejuvenation in a comfortable outdoor retreat. As you relax in the elegant wood structure, you can admire the fine wood grain and ponder what happened as each year of fiber was added to the tree used to make your wooden backyard gazebo. This structure is built to be enjoyed.
Timeless. Natural. Beauty. Our octagon gazebos are a result of decades and even centuries of knowledge, creativity, wisdom, and craftsmanship. This pleasing effect of this gazebo is not merely because of one element. Instead, it is because of a variety of factors. Plus it is how these elements are combined… First of all, the shape is one that has stood the test of time–the octagon. Many ancient and modern structures have followed this design. People have loved it for millennia, and they still love it today.
The second factor is the material we use. We don’t try to get away with cheap synthetic lumber. We use the “real deal.” The pressure-treated rot-resistant yellow pine used to build each octagon gazebo will last for decades. When it comes in contact with the ground, normal wood will begin to rot after a few years, however with this rot-resistant wood you can enjoy your backyard structure for decades. The wood on our octagonal backyard gazebos has the grain, fiber, and texture of the real thing–high-grade lumber sourced from the best pine and spruce forests. These materials augment feelings of security and relaxation as you sit and enjoy your upgraded backyard.
The final factor is the process we use to build each structure. Large machines do not mass-produce these outdoor gazebos. Instead, real people, who care deeply about their craft, meticulously assemble each structure. When you purchase a backyard gazebo from us, you get an attractive rendezvous of timeless design, natural integrity, and careful craftsmanship.

The iconic 8-sided octagon has been a favorite trait in architecture and design throughout history. Octagon buildings originally represented renewal and regeneration, and this unique design can be found in buildings all over the world. The Dome of the Rock, Tower of the Winds in Athens, and the Basilica of San Vitale are all examples of significant buildings built around an octagon.
This octagonal shape is also roomy. It’s semi-circular and therefore has very little non-usable space. Because of its absence of space-consuming corners, it offers more usable room compared to a different-shaped structure with the same footprint. This makes for a great gazebo that gives more than it takes from your precious backyard.
Very good.Always a pleasure to work with in helping with my concerns. Did a wonderful job building our Gazebo. I do recommend highly.

We shopped for a gazebo in this very competitive local market. After comparing features, quality of construction and materials and price, it was an easy decision to work with Lancaster County Backyard. The whole process from selection of options, ordering, and delivery was easy and a pleasure. Delivery was on time and professionally done, and the gazebo itself is just as we envisioned.
Thank you Lancaster County Backyard!

I had two of the workers come to my house to install a cedar roof on my gazebo. They arrived at 7:00 am and worked all day long. I can say that these two workers were the hardest workers I have ever seen in my life. It was absolute perfection! I have pictures. You may also come to my home to see the job they did. Truly unbelievably beautiful. Thank you guys and God blessed you with such great talent. I already gave my neighbor your website and phone number.

We are thrilled with the quality, fit and finish, and appearance of our new gazebo. It has been a pleasure working with you during the planning and delivery discussions. It was also great that you were flexible with our delivery date because dry and firm ground was absolutely essential to getting the unit in place.
I watched your Dad every step of the way during the on site handling and set up and he is amazing. The combination of the specialized equipment and the skill of Ivan were astounding to us. Very well done. We also appreciate the care with which Ivan handled the gazebo and completed the final leveling. All-in-all – fantastic!

The gazebo is beautiful, with lovely flourishes and rounded corners. It is sturdy (2×6 flooring), high-quality PT wood, and has a cupola that is like a cherry on top! I love it and will spend many a hot summer afternoon reading there. Sales staff was professional, appointment made promptly, and delivery was perfect (less than 2hrs to install). I camouflaged the 4×4 skids and landscaped around it. Price was right too! Most competitive on the market for my area. Life is good!

Questions?
What’s the best way to care for a wood structure?
The milling of lumber creates an extremely smooth surface. Structures may be factory stained, but the best time to apply stain for longevity is approximately 3 months after installation. That way, the majority of checking will be exposed and the dryer, more porous wood will hold stain better. Check this blog post about “PRESERVING OUTDOOR WOOD“
Will the wood check on my structure?
Wood checking is part of the experience of owning a wood structure. Most checks appear in the first year after installing the pavilion, pergola, or gazebo. Inevitable checking is one of the reasons we recommend waiting until 3 months after installation to stain a structure. That way the stain can be applied while the wood is still fresh but after the majority of checking has occurred.
Do you offer a DIY kit?
Depending on your requirements, we could produce a kit for your structure. We don’t recommend DIY kits for these structures, however, as the building requirements can be complicated. Our builders are fast, efficient, and experts in their field. Give us a try!
To what areas do you deliver?
Our delivery area for most Pavilions, Pergolas, and Gazebos is 200 miles of our home base in Lancaster County, Pensylvania. This radius allows us to reach into most of Pennsylvania, all of Maryland, Deleware, New Jersey, much of Virginia, New York, and Connecticut. We deliver large Pavilions nationwide across the contiguous United States.
Will I need a building permit for my gazebo?
Some areas require building permits for gazebos and others do not, so check with your local municipality if you have questions for your area. We have diagrams for gazebos that may be useful in the permitting process if you do find you need a permit (see gazebo specifications).
Do the skids stay in place below my gazebo?
The skids below the gazebo are used for transport. We can remove the skids during installation if requested at the time of purchase. The gazebo floor uses pressure-treated wood that is ready for ground contact so the skids are not needed to protect the gazebo floor.
Will you use blocks to level my gazebo?
We do not normally level a gazebo using blocks, though in some situations for smaller gazebos we can use blocks for leveling. Let us know in advance if you believe blocking may work for your situation. Three things apply in the event we agree to try to level your gazebo with blocks: (1) You will need to provide ample blocks and have them on site before the gazebo arrives, (2) you may need to pay extra for the time needed to block the gazebo, and (3) we will not return to reblock a gazebo that has settled after installation.
Can my gazebo be set on grass or do I need to prepare a site for the gazebo?
Grass areas are seldom level enough to set a gazebo without any preparation. The gazebo may be set on a concrete pad, patio, deck, or bed of crushed stone. A good way to prepare a foundation is to cut out 4″ to 6″ of sod and fill it with ¾” crushed stones. You will likely want to frame the pad with timbers if the ground is not level since you will then need to dig deeper at some places and may need to hold the stone in place on one of the sides. The foundation needs to be level for your gazebo to be level.
To help prepare your site you may want to check with Eli Stoltzfus at Bedrock Foundations (484-712-8828), Gid Stoltzfus at Better Built Pads (717-629-0968), Jake Lantz at Firm Foundations (717-629-0689), or for the Lansdale area only Larry Bergey (484-336-9481).
Do I have any choices besides kit on-site assembly if a fully assembled gazebo is too wide to get to my site?
Gazebos can sometimes be lifted into place with a crane if access to the location is too narrow. However, we do not supply a crane.
Can you build a gazebo in my yard or on my deck or patio if the standard delivery doesn’t work for me?
If space or ground conditions do not permit delivery of a fully assembled gazebo to your site or if you wish to build your own base instead of using our gazebo floor we can bring the gazebo as a kit instead and assemble it on location. A gazebo is built differently when we need to deliver a kit and the on-site labor is less efficient than building the gazebo at the shop so we need to charge more when we build a gazebo on site. Gazebos with no floor (you provide a deck or patio base) are always built on site. We can send a crew to build kits at your site hundreds of miles from Intercourse, Pennsylvania.
How do you get a gazebo into my yard?
The gazebo is normally assembled at the shop and brought to your location on a truck and trailer. The truck and trailer are then backed into your yard to the point where you want the gazebo, the trailer is tilted, and the gazebo is slid off the back of the trailer.
How do I figure gazebo delivery costs?
Use www.mapquest.com to determine the miles from Kinzers, Pennsylvania (zip 17535) to your address; use the “Shortest Time” setting under “Routing Options.” Then subtract twenty (20) miles from the total miles (first twenty miles free). Multiply the resulting number by $3.70 to get an approximate delivery charge. However, the actual charge may be different if the calculated route cannot be used due to a wide load, if escorts are needed, if out of state permits are needed, or the gazebo needs to be built on-site.
