Perfect for all kinds of locations, wooden pavilions have a wide appeal because of the classic look of wood. Large or small, ornate or rustic, traditional or trendy, these pavilions are sure to deliver beyond your expectations and made to last for generations.
Vinyl pavilions are modern looking and long-lasting, as well as easy to clean and maintain. All sorts of sizes are possible, from a small poolside getaway to an enormous outdoor retreat. A vinyl pavilion may be complemented by veneer stonework, fireplace and chimney, exotic wood ceilings, and copper and other roofing options.
Our Timber Frame Outdoor Pavilions combine the modern structure with the traditional art of mortise and tenon joined heavy timbers. Constructed with massive #1 Douglas-Fir Timbers, these solid structures combine classic detail with the rustic beauty of natural wood. These magnificent pavilions are great for a large picnic area in the backwoods, a backyard barbecue or commercial pavilions for business, parks, or a poolside resort.
Based on our style and option variety, we are confident we can build wood or vinyl pavilions that reflect your taste and style. Whether you need an extension to your home out-of-doors or a breathtaking event venue, you and your friends will be surprised and pleased with a pavilion from Lancaster County Backyard.

I recently had a pavilion built as part of a back yard project. From beginning to end, my experience with the Lancaster County Backyard staff and their craftsman was exemplary. They were all very knowledgeable, professional, courteous and wonderful to deal with. I was also building an attached stone fireplace to the pavilion by another contractor. Kevin (of LCB) was very knowledgeable at such a detailed level, I knew he was very experienced. When we reviewed the project, I truly felt like he was helping build a family member’s Pavilion. I would recommend LCB without any reservations and they can use me as a reference anytime. Thank you Kevin and LCB.

These guys FAR EXCEEDED my expectations. From Elmer coming out and helping with the design/ quote to the team that raised my roof in a day, I couldn’t be more pleased.
It’s rare you come across a contractor now a days that is courteous throughout the process, shows up when they say they will, and gives you more than you could have hoped for!
Well done Lancaster County Backyard!

I selected Lancaster County Backyards primarily for their ability to provide the product and services that I was looking for within the geographic radius of where I live. I was also impressed with Elmer’s level of knowledge and that he took time to answer my questions and provide details on how the pergola would be designed. He was also very response to my emails and calls which is important to me and very thorough in the information provided back.

I just had a pavilion installed from Kevin and his crew. They arrived early on Tuesday morning and working tirelessly throughout the day. I had many questions as the work progressed, Kevin patiently answered.
Kevin is respectful, hands on, and oversees all of the installation. My husband and I were extremely satisfied with the entire process. We would highly recommend Kevin and his crew to anyone.
Use our online quote form, or give us a call to discuss your project. Once we confirm your design, we produce an estimate for your approval.
Review and approve the estimate, and place your order with a down payment. You prepare your space as we prepare your structure.
Once your structure is ready, it's delivered to your property, and/or constructed on-site. You enjoy outdoor happiness and hosting like never before!
If you want a custom design or need to satisfy local zoning and permitting requirements, our advanced process may be required. This is typically required on structures of 200 square feet and larger.

What’s the best way to care for a wood structure?
The milling of lumber creates an extremely smooth surface. Structures may be factory stained, but the best time to apply stain for longevity is approximately 3 months after installation. That way, the majority of checking will be exposed and the dryer, more porous wood will hold stain better. Check this blog post about “PRESERVING OUTDOOR WOOD“
Will the wood check on my structure?
Wood checking is part of the experience of owning a wood structure. Most checks appear in the first year after installing the pavilion, pergola, or gazebo. Inevitable checking is one of the reasons we recommend waiting until 3 months after installation to stain a structure. That way the stain can be applied while the wood is still fresh but after the majority of checking has occurred.
Do you offer a DIY kit?
Depending on your requirements, we could produce a kit for your structure. We don’t recommend DIY kits for these structures, however, as the building requirements can be complicated. Our builders are fast, efficient, and experts in their field. Give us a try!
To what areas do you deliver?
Our delivery area for most Pavilions, Pergolas, and Gazebos is 200 miles of our home base in Lancaster County, Pensylvania. This radius allows us to reach into most of Pennsylvania, all of Maryland, Deleware, New Jersey, much of Virginia, New York, and Connecticut. We deliver large Pavilions nationwide across the contiguous United States.
Does vinyl cost much more than wood?
The extra expense of covering and constructing a vinyl structure makes it 20-40% more expensive than it’s wood counterparts.
Why do timber frame pavilions cost more than standard wood or vinyl pavilions?
The sheer amount of wood required for a timber frame construction makes it much more expensive than it’s wood or vinyl counterparts. Also, the mortise and tenon style of building requires a much higher level of engineering and expertise to complete. These factors combine to make a timber frame pavilion cost much more than standard wood or vinyl.
Can I mount a pavilion on a concrete pad?
We recommend that the pavilion columns are placed on concrete piers (cut the concrete and place piers in).
Can I place a pergola or pavilion on bare ground?
To place a pergola/pavilion on bare ground, you should first install concrete piers that mound just a bit above the surface of the ground. (for concrete pier details, see Answer to Q. Can I mount it on my paver patio?)
Can I mount a pergola or pavilion on my deck?
If you’re mounting to an existing wood deck, a good and proper mounting method is to drop the posts down through the deck and secure them to the joists. The recommended method is to take the wooden portion of the post down through the deck. (Trim pieces for vinyl make this a bit simpler.)
Can I mount a pergola or pavilion to my paver patio?
We do not recommend fastening to pavers. They do not provide structural stability and are not a secure anchoring method. The recommended method is to install concrete piers 18” in diameter and 36” deep. Remove a section of pavers approximately 24” in diameter. Then dig down 36”. Fill with concrete to approximately one to two inches below the bottom of pavers. After the pergola or pavilion is installed, the pavers can be cut to fit and replaced around the columns.
