Who is Lancaster County Backyard?
Lancaster County Backyard is a Pennsylvania-based shed, garage, gazebo, pergola, and pavilion builder known for its outdoor living structures and line of timber frame buildings. As the retail division of Pequea, a company founded in 1978 by experienced carpenter Abner King, Lancaster County Backyard was established in 2016 to help busy homeowners and businesses design and install high-quality outdoor structures.
In 2006, Abner’s sons Ivan, Steve, and Calvin King took ownership and expanded the line of structures offered by Lancaster County Backyard and Pequea. Lancaster County Backyard serves homes and businesses throughout Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, and beyond.

Meet The Expert — Kevin King, Building Manager
Kevin King is the Retail Manager at Lancaster County Backyard, where he has led marketing project coordination and customer service for over a decade. As the company’s longtime building manager, Kevin is deeply committed to delivering high-quality outdoor structures, including pavilions, pergolas, sheds, garages, and more, along with an outstanding customer experience.
Before joining Lancaster County Backyard, Kevin worked in education, where he developed the ability to clearly communicate complex ideas. He now brings that same skill to his role in the construction and outdoor living industry, breaking down building processes for customers and collaborating closely with the shop and yard teams at both Lancaster County Backyard and Pequea.
